Sydney, 26 August 2008: Canon Australia responds to market demand with the launch of the highly-anticipated EF-S 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 IS telephoto zoom lens for Canon EOS DSLR cameras. Photo enthusiasts looking for a compact and lightweight lens with superior high magnification zoom performance need look no further.

The new lens features an 18-200mm high zoom ratio of up to approximately 11 times, spanning wide to telephoto (focal length image equivalent to 29-320mm in 35mm format).

The EF-S 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens fits all APS-C sized sensor models including the EOS 1000D, EOS 450D, EOS 40D and the EOS 50D. The lens also comes packaged with the EOS 50D and EOS 450D Premium Kits.
