A runner comes down the straightaway at a lightly-attended track meet.
 
There is a reason this event was lightly attended - it was very cold and windy. Part of photography involves being prepared for the conditions you will be shooting in.
 
The subject is in motion, therefore AI Servo AF mode was the right choice.
