Christmas Cactus Flower Macro

A solid black background is one of the easiest backgrounds to create - especially when using flash. Using a very bright flash with a short exposure and narrow aperture can sometimes be all that is needed for a solid black background. I typically use a piece of light-absorbing black velor material behind my subject to insure solid blackness in the background - as exampled in this picture.
