This custom sleigh bed product photo was taken for a small custom furniture maker.
This shoot presented several big challenges. One was the over-powering light from the large windows. To resolve this problem, a late-in-the-day time was chosen for the shoot. Blinds were pulled to eliminate outdoor distractions. Interior light was from a Canon Speedlite 580EX II fired into a large umbrella.
The next big challenge was the small amount of space available to work in - about 14'x14'. I used the widest rectilinear lens available - the Canon EF 14mm L II. To keep the lines running parallel to the image frame border, a level camera position was used.
Position in the room was such that the headboard background would be as clean as possible - to show the curve of the headboard.
