Thank you for using Tamron products.

We are pleased to inform you that the firmware update for the 28-75mm F/2.8 Di III RXD (Model A036) for Sony E-mount, full-frame mirrorless cameras, is now available. The firmware update is available through Sony E-mount camera bodies. Please review the information below.

  • Ver.2

Improvements

This update improves known issues for autofocus with Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras, when the range of focus search distance is broad, in video recording mode.

Thank you for using Tamron products.

We wish to notify you that we will perform updating of the firmware for our SP 90mm F/2.8 Di MACRO1:1 VC USD (Model F017) for Canon.

Affected Models

  • SP 90mm F/2.8 Di MACRO 1:1 VC USD (Model F017) for Canon

Serial number

Firmware update will not be required for lenses with these serial numbers.

Firmware Improvements

  • When used in combination with the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV, behavior where the camera takes several seconds to start up when first switched on after mounting the lens has been improved.
  • When used in combination with the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV, behavior where power consumption was high with the lens mounted and where the camera’s battery charge would continue to drain even when the camera was switched off and stowed with the lenses mounted has been improved.

How to update the firmware

  1. The firmware can be updated using the TAP-in Console (sold separately.) Using the TAP-in Console accessory, customers can update the firmware themselves.
  2. For those who require firmware update service, please contact your local Tamron distributor for more details.

Notice about compatibility between Canon EOS 5D Mark IV and Tamron lens products

Dear users and potential purchasers of Tamron interchangeable lenses.

Thank you for using Tamron products.

  1. We would like to ask you that, when using a Tamron lens with Canon EOS 5D Mark IV camera that has been released in this September, you turn OFF the “Lens aberration correction” function included in the camera’s menu prior to use.
  2. We have learned the issue that when you attach the Tamron SP 90mm F/2.8 Di MACRO 1:1 VC USD (Model F017) on the EOS 5D Mark IV, it takes several seconds to turn on the power of the camera at the first.
We sincerely apologize to all users and potential purchasers for any inconvenience the issue may cause.

We wish to notify you that the AF functions of the following interchangeable lenses for Canon, which have been produced before May 11th, 2015 and have not updated firmware when there were the firmware update service announcements below, do not function in Live View mode when used on the EOS 5D Mark IV which went on sale on September 8th, 2016 in Japan.
