From Lowepro:

PETALUMA, Calif., March 25, 2014 — Lowepro, the product design company that builds protective, high-quality gear for photography, video and portable electronic devices, launches its Passport Series of soft-sided and modern camera bags: Passport Backpack, Passport Messenger and Passport Sling III.

“The Passport Series offers consumers a discreet and flexible way to carry their photo gear, along with a laptop or tablet and personal items,” said Tim Grimmer, Lowepro brand director. “The backpack, messenger and sling each include an impact-resistant and removable camera insert, so you can blend in with the crowd and feel confident your gear is protected.”

Impact-resistant Camera Insert
Protection and flexibility combine in the build of the impact-resistant camera insert. Padded and adjustable dividers allow you to fit anything from a CSC to a compact DSLR, plus an extra accessory, and keep your kit secure from bumps and abrasion. Lift out the insert and your bag becomes a fully functioning backpack, messenger or sling for the day.

CradleFit for Laptop/Tablet
The Passport Series features a new kind of protective space for carrying a laptop or tablet: a CradleFit pocket. It features classic Lowepro padding with floating-foam construction to suspend and protect a device within each Passport Series bag.

Three, Everyday Styles
Soft-sided and modern, the Passport Series takes inspiration from Lowepro’s original and everyday camera sling design. The series expands to include the next-generation sling, backpack and messenger – each suited to day trips or longer travel with a full set of convenient features and low-key, non-camera-bag style. Whichever styles consumers choose, they can use their Passport Series bag to keep a compact camera, go-to tablet and plenty of essentials protected and within easy reach.

Thoughtful Details
Convenient touches add to the everyday appeal of the Passport Series. Each bag includes an interior mesh zippered pocket and a built-in key clip to secure small items and quickly retrieve them.

The Passport Backpack features a zippered front organizer pocket, two tall side pockets for water bottles, plus a padded mesh backpad with contoured shoulder straps for a comfortable fit.

The Passport Messenger includes a front organizer pocket under the flap, a quick-grab handle for an extra carrying option, and an adjustable shoulder strap with a removable shoulder pad for customized comfort while wearing.

From Lowepro:

Maximize your capacity, protection and travel ease with new Pro Roller x-Series AW rolling camera bags from Lowepro.

Petaluma, CA – March 3, 2014 – Lowepro, a product design company that builds protective, high-quality gear for photography, video and portable electronic devices, launches a trio of rolling camera bags that maximize the amount of pro-sized gear photographers can pack, protect and transport: the Pro Roller x-Series AW.

“We’ve taken our proven and award-winning rolling bag design to the next level with this series,” said Tim Grimmer, Lowepro brand director. “Now pros and enthusiasts can travel from location to location with the maximum amount of camera, video or lighting gear and rely on high-impact-resistant protection and incredible ease of use.”

MaxFit System for Maximum Capacity
At the core of this new design is Lowepro’s patent-pending MaxFit System of adjustable, interior dividers. This micro-fitting structure makes it easy to closely pack pro bodies, large lenses and all essential accessories in a deep and roomy interior while maintaining superior protection in a streamlined form factor.

The Pro Roller x-Series AW offers the flexibility to move dividers and travel with a variety of kits depending on shooting needs – from Pro DSLR to video, and lighting to audio.

High-impact Protection
The hardshell exterior of this rolling bag design is constructed of long-wearing balllistic nylon to provide gear with high-impact protection when moving on city streets and from the rigors of airline travel.

Built-in Weather Protection
A patented, built-in All Weather AW Cover adds another layer of protection – in this case from the elements – and may be deployed from a hidden pocket at the back of the bag.

Travel-friendly to the Max
The Pro Roller x200 and x100 are sized to meet standard airline carry-on requirements (each measures less than 45 linear inches / 114.3 centimeters). All bags feature a compact and secure TSA-approved lock with locking zippers. And all include one of Lowepro’s inventive solutions – a Reserve Pack that unzips from the hard case to provide extra versatility for those times when a ‘plan B’ is needed.

Thoughful Details for Professional Use
The Lowepro design team kept ease of use in mind as they added these thoughtful details: vibration-absorbing wheels with an ABEC-5 rating for a smooth glide; a deep laptop pocket at the front of bag for quick access; see-through interior pockets for extra accessories like cables, filters, headphones and batteries; removable accessory pouches to keep small accessories within easy reach (two pouches included with x300 AW and x200 AW models; one with x100 AW model); and a no-drop front pocket to stash and grab essentials like a smartphone, travel documents and keys.

Passport Sling II - (Petaluma, CA – September 18, 2012)

Lowepro, a product design company that builds protective gear for photography, video and portable electronic devices, unveils its next generation of a versatile favorite among enthusiast photographers: Passport Sling II. Inspired by the original Passport Sling for DSLR cameras, this new design incorporates a removable and customizable camera box that adjusts to fit a CSC or DSLR kit, plus personal gear.

"We're excited to offer this customer favorite in an updated design that allows photographers to fit their DSLR or CSC camera set-up," said Tim Grimmer, Lowepro director of product management. "We built a flexible, padded camera box that makes it easy to change up your kit depending on your shooting plans."

This discreet sling design has a unique, organic profile that belies the fact that it fits and protects camera gear. Its removable camera box quickly transforms the Passport Sling II into a full travel or day bag. Both camera box and sling may be folded flat for packing into a larger bag.

An expandable front panel unzips to reveal 30% more storage space for personal items—ideal for a day of sightseeing and souvenir shopping or a trip to the farmers market.

Comfortable, convenient and thoughtful features make the Passport Sling II a perfect everyday and travel choice. The adjustable shoulder strap with cam lock buckle includes a detachable pad for extra, day-long comfort; remove the pad for a more streamlined look. Multiple storage pockets on the exterior and interior provide ample space for a water bottle, smartphone, wallet, keys, light jacket, and other personal items. A bright, contrasting lining makes it easy to locate gear.

The Passport Sling II fits two types of camera configurations within the customizable camera box. The removable divider and flaps are built to make quick and secure size adjustments. The larger configuration fits a DSLR with attached zoom lens, plus one extra lens or a flash. The smaller configuratioon fits a CSC with attached zoom lens, plus two extra lenses or a flash and one extra lens. This new sling is available in Black/Red or Mica/Green.

"We've received positive feedback from customers and favorable reviews from photo publications, blogs and forums when we launched the Event Messenger series in March of this year," said Tim Grimmer, Lowepro director of product management. "Photographers and reviewers appreciate its discreet profile, flexible organization and easy access—and many asked for us to make it in classic black; so we have."

The Event Messenger's Grab-and-Go design with a wide-access main compartment makes it ideal for getting to gear when shooting a news story, wedding or impromptu event. A Dual-Mode Flap allows a photographer to quickly switch from maximum security mode to quiet working mode.

From Lowepro:

The New Lowepro Flipside Sport AW Series

DayMen Canada announces the launch of Lowepro’s new technical, lightweight daypack that offers active outdoor photographers and enthusiasts on-the-fly access to gear.

Lowepro Flipside Sport AW Series

DayMen Canada, manufacturer and leading distributor of high quality imaging, laptop and other electronic protective accessory brands, unveils its new Flipside Sport AW series from Lowepro. These two technical packs incorporate body-side access, a removable camera compartment, all-weather protection, plus lightweight carrying comfort.

A compact, low-profile shape allows the wearer to move with ease when running or hiking on an alpine trail or exploring challenging terrain on a mountain bike or skis. Perforated and breathable padding with air channels is strategically placed at the back panel and shoulder straps to provide comfort and moisture wicking at the back and shoulders. The unique, body-side access design provides an easy way to get to gear without having to remove the pack.

To create more flexibility for outdoor photographers and adventurers, the design team constructed a removable camera compartment. It includes the classic Lowepro adjustable and padded divider system, but with an inventive twist: the entire compartment may be removed, securely cinched with a storm-flap closure, and put in a safe place while the pack is converted to a fully functional daypack.

Built-in details add comfort and convenience for a day of outdoor activities. The packs feature a hydration-ready side pocket with space for a 1 liter reservoir (not included) and easy-to-reach port for a sip tube. An ultra-secure tripod attachment system at the side of the pack helps expand the carrying capacity—it accommodates a range of compact tripods or monopods, and helps compress the overall size of the pack.

Additional, outdoor-friendly features include: lashes for trekking poles/ice axe; a zippered pocket inside the back panel; multiple adjustment points for a custom fit at shoulders, sternum and waist; Lowepro’s patented, built-in All Weather AW Cover™ to protect gear from the elements; and lightweight, resilient and high-performance 210D triple-ripstop nylon with PU coating for improved durability.

The Flipside Sport 15L AW fits up to a Pro DSLR with grip, with attached 300mm f/2.8 lens; 1-3 extra lenses or flashes; a tripod or monopod; 1 liter hydration reservoir; cables, memory, manual and extra accessories. The Flipside Sport 10L AW fits a DSLR with attached 70-200mm f/2.8 lens; 1-2 extra lenses or flashes; a tripod or monopod; 1 liter hydration reservoir; cables, memory, manual and extra accessories.

From Lowepro:

Fast access and maximum security

Lowepro introduces a large-capacity backpack for sports, adventure and outdoor photographers who carry a 500mm lens.

Flipside 500 AW - (Petaluma, CA, March 1, 2012)

Lowepro, the leading brand of protective gear for photography equipment and portable electronic devices, unveils a large-capacity outdoor backpack based on the award-winning design of the Flipside series: the Flipside 500 AW.

This new pack offers professional sports, adventure and outdoor shooters a mix of premium features to meet their capacity, access and comfort needs as they capture images in a variety of environments.

"We designed the Flipside 500 AW for professional photographers who carry a large amount of equipment in crowds, in challenging conditions, and in every corner of the world," said Tim Grimmer, Lowepro director of marketing and product management. "Its low-profile shape combined with capacity for pro-sized gear make this pack an ideal carrying solution for shooting scenarios," he added.

As its name reveals, the Flipside 500 AW is built to protect, store and carry a 500mm f/4 lens, plus additional pro-sized equipment in a padded and spacious main compartment. An adjustable divider system makes it easy to organize gear in a variety of configurations. A Hideaway Tripod Mount™ attachment system includes a foot holder, plus sturdy buckle and strap to secure a standard-size tripod or monopod to the front of the pack.

A body-side access design serves the outdoor photographer in two practical ways. First, it offers easy access to gear when the waistbelt is secured and the pack is rotated to the front and unzipped. Second, it provides extra security when the pack is worn, as the back-entry compartment is placed next to the body.

The contoured shoulder straps and padded waistbelt provide extra comfort and help evenly distribute the weight of a heavy load.

Additional features of the Flipside 500 AW include: Lowepro's patented, built-in All Weather AW Cover™ to protect valuable gear and personal items from the elements; a Hideaway Tripod Mount™ system to attach a standard-size tripod or monopod to the outside of the pack; a zippered front storage pocket with plentiful space for a tablet, cables, adaptors, small accessories and personal items; built-in pockets for spare memory; and two SlipLock™ attachment loops to expand carrying capacity.

The Flipside 500 AW is available in Black. For more information on this product, other models in the Flipside series and the entire product collection, please contact Lowepro or visit www.lowepro.com.

From Lowepro:

Capture life’s events… in style

Lowepro unveils a discreet and modern messenger series for enthusiast photographers with ILC kits: the Event Messenger.

Event Messenger Series - (Petaluma, CA, March 1, 2012)

Lowepro, a product design company that builds protective gear for photography equipment and portable electronic devices, introduces the Event Messenger series. Three models are built to carry and protect an interchangeable lens camera (ILC) kit, plus a laptop or tablet in the larger two.

"Our Event Messenger offers the enthusiast photographer a discreet, modern bag with quick and quiet access in an innovative design," said Tim Grimmer, Lowepro director of marketing and product management.

The Event Messenger's Grab-and-Go design features a wide-access main compartment. A Dual-Mode Flap design allows the enthusiast to quickly switch from maximum security mode to quiet working mode by unfolding or folding the fasteners under the flap. The quiet working mode is ideal for capturing shots during an event where discretion is ideal.

Additional features include: padded laptop/tablet compartment (in the 250 and 150, respectively); comfortable shoulder strap with non-slip patch; stretch side pockets; and a grab handle for an extra carrying option.

The series is available in Mica in three sizes: the 250 (fits up to a Pro DSLR without grip, extra lenses, accessories and a 13" laptop), 150 (fits a DSLR, extra lenses, accessories and a tablet) and 100 (fits a compact DSLR or compact system camera, extra lenses and accessories). Lowepro Press Release:

Petaluma, CA – DayMen Group, manufacturer and leading distributor of high-quality imaging, laptop and other electronic protective accessory brands, is pleased to announce it has reached an agreement to acquire Joby.

Joby is the San Francisco-based manufacturer of iconic photo, mobile and lighting products that inspire the creative and active lifestyle, including the award-winning GorillaPod line of flexible tripods.
