Pool and House at Night

Want to create a starburst effect from the lights in your picture? A narrow aperture will make this happen. A lens with an even number of aperture blades will create the same number of rays as the number of aperture blades. A lens with an odd number of aperture blades will create twice the number of rays as the number of aperture blades. In this picture, 18 rays indicate 9 aperture blades.
