Canon to Exit Low-Priced Compact Market?

An article on Nikkan Kogyo suggests that Canon may be bowing out of the low-priced compact camera market to focus on high-magnification zooms and its DSLR market.

Focusing on higher end camera systems sounds quite reasonable as the prevalence of smart phones has squeezed the low end market for all traditional camera manufacturers.
