Canon Inc to Acquire Own Shares

Canon Inc. has announced intention to acquire own shares.

Canon intends to acquire up to 15.0 million shares of common stock, equivalent to 1.2% of outstanding shares. The total cost of the acquisition will be up to 50 billion yen. The purchase is expected to be made between August 12, 2011 through September 16, 2011.
